This air fryer grouper is the easiest fish recipe you’ll ever make! It’s perfectly breaded, flaky, and cooks in under 10 minutes.

air fryer grouper fillets with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, and hot sauce.

I love serving this air-fried grouper with tartar sauce, lots of lemon juice, and hot sauce! If you like a lot of heat, this spicy aioli is the ultimate dipping sauce. Nothing beats hot fish with a cool creamy flavorful sauce!

    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • You can use any type of fish such as cod, tilapia, or catfish.
    • Want some extra crunch? Use panko breadcrumbs instead of plain seasoned breadcrumbs. You can modify this recipe any way you want.
    • You only need 3 ingredients.

    Ingredient Notes

    • Grouper – Make sure it’s completely thawed otherwise the breadcrumbs won’t stick to the fish. Try to use even-sized fillets so they cook evenly. Also, allow the fish to sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes before cooking.
    • Breadcrumbs – I used seasoned bread crumbs but you can buy plain breadcrumbs and season them with your favorite spices.
    • Oil – It will add flavor and help the breadcrumbs stick to the fillets. Canola or vegetable oil will work for this recipe.

    Step-By-Step Instructions

    1. Coat the grouper fillets with oil on both sides. Season lightly with salt and pepper and then coat with bread crumbs.
    2. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes. Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray.
    3. Place the grouper fillets in the air fryer basket and spray with cooking spray. This will help give it some color. Cook for 8 minutes flipping halfway or until the fish is flaky.
    4. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and enjoy!

    Top Tips

    • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket otherwise, the fillets won’t crisp up.
    • Serve this with creamy mashed potatoes and air fryer vegetables for a complete dinner meal.
    • Have tortillas on hand? Make some grouper tacos!
