Poke cakes are single-layer cakes that you poke holes into and add a sweet sauce that fills the holes.
– all-purpose flour
– cocoa powder
– baking soda
– baking powder
– vegetable oil
– whole milk
– vanilla extract
– heavy cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
In a large bowl, mix the eggs, oil, milk, vanilla extract, and sugar. Mix well.
Slowly pour the boiling water into the batter and mix until well combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
