Equipment

  • air fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork belly cut into 1 or 2-inch cubes
  • 1/2 tsp sazon
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the sazon, oregano, salt, cumin, and black pepper.
  • Pour the oil over the pork belly cubes along with the spice blend and baking soda. Mix well.
  • Spray your air fryer basket with nonstick spray and add the pork belly cubes to the basket. Spread the pork belly in a single layer.
  • Cook for 20 minutes at 250 degrees F. Once the 20 minutes are up, flip the pork belly, increase the temperature to 400 degrees F. and cook for 5-10 minutes or until crispy. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Don't overcook the pork belly for too long otherwise, it can get dry on the inside.
  • Allow the pork belly to sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes before cooking.
  • Don't discard the fat! It's super tasty when it crisps up and it's basically the best part.
  • Make sure to pat dry the pork belly dry with a paper towel before seasoning.
