M&M's Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

These M&M's chocolate chip cookie bars are soft and chewy with crisp edges. Loaded with M&M candies, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and baked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup M&M's

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. and line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  • Using an electric mixer, mix the butter until smooth. Add the brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined. 
  • Beat in the eggs and mix until well combined but don't overmix. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt. 
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and M&M's. Add the cookie dough mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread the dough evenly. Take your time and make sure it's even. 
  • Bake for 27 minutes and allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing into it.

Notes

  • Don't overbake these if you want the inside to be soft and chewy.
  • It's essential that the butter and eggs are at room temperature.
  • If enjoying these hours later, pop them in the microwave for 10 seconds to enjoy warm.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
