Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Breast
These air fryer bbq chicken breasts are seasoned with a homemade dry rub and smothered with bbq sauce. They're sticky on the outside and juicy on the inside!

- 3 large chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ cup bbq sauce or more if needed
- salt and pepper to taste
- nonstick spray
Spray your air fryer basket with nonstick spray and combine the paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a small bowl.
Pat dry the chicken with a paper towel and drizzle olive oil on both sides. Season the chicken on both sides with kosher salt, black pepper, and the spice rub.
Place the chicken in the air fryer and cook at 370 degrees F for 10 minutes. Once the 10 minutes are up, brush the chicken breasts with bbq sauce, increase the temperature to 400 degrees and cook for 2 minutes. Once the 2 minutes are up, flip the chicken breasts, brush them with bbq sauce and cook for 2 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. The chicken cooked for a total of 14 minutes.
- Make sure the chicken breasts are about the same size so they cook evenly.
- The thicker the chicken breasts are, the more seasoning they will need. Season the chicken breasts on both sides generously for the best results!
