Equipment

  • air fryer

Ingredients

  • 3 large chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup bbq sauce or more if needed
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • nonstick spray

Instructions

  • Spray your air fryer basket with nonstick spray and combine the paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a small bowl.
  • Pat dry the chicken with a paper towel and drizzle olive oil on both sides. Season the chicken on both sides with kosher salt, black pepper, and the spice rub.
  • Place the chicken in the air fryer and cook at 370 degrees F for 10 minutes. Once the 10 minutes are up, brush the chicken breasts with bbq sauce, increase the temperature to 400 degrees and cook for 2 minutes. Once the 2 minutes are up, flip the chicken breasts, brush them with bbq sauce and cook for 2 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. The chicken cooked for a total of 14 minutes.

Notes

  • Make sure the chicken breasts are about the same size so they cook evenly.
  • The thicker the chicken breasts are, the more seasoning they will need. Season the chicken breasts on both sides generously for the best results!
