Air Fryer Honey BBQ Wings
These air fryer honey bbq wings are coated in a sweet and tangy sauce and cooked to perfection. The perfect appetizer for game day or any get-together!
- 1.30 lbs bone-in chicken wings
- 1 tsp salt or to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup BBQ Sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- cooking spray
Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F. and spray the basket with cooking spray.
In a small bowl, combine the paprika, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Pat dry the chicken wings with a paper towel and drizzle with olive oil. Season the chicken wings with the spice mixture.
Lay the chicken wings skin side up, in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure not to overcrowd the basket.
Cook for 15 minutes. While the chicken wings cook, combine the honey and bbq sauce. Taste it and adjust if needed. If it's too sweet for your liking, add more bbq sauce.
Once the 15 minutes are up, remove the chicken wings from the air fryer and place them in a bowl. Add the honey bbq sauce to the bowl and mix until the chicken wings are fully coated with the sauce.
Add the chicken wings back to the air fryer and cook for an additional 3-6 mins. Allow the chicken wings to cool for a few minutes and enjoy!
- Don't coat raw chicken wings with honey bbq sauce otherwise, the sauce will burn. Honey burns extremely quickly so make sure to add it towards the end!
- If you want to make the sauce a little spicy, add a few splashes of sriracha sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
