French Bread Pizza

This French bread pizza is cheesy, garlicky, and crispy! Made with simple fresh ingredients in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread sliced in half
  • 6 tablespoon unsalted butter softened
  • 2 garlic cloves finely minced
  • ½ tablespoon fresh parsley
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • red pepper flakes optional
  • pepperoni
  • salt, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Using a serrated knife, slice the bread in half lengthwise.
  • In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, parsley, garlic, and a pinch of salt.
  • Spread the garlic butter all over the bread and bake for 5 minutes.
  • Once the 5 minutes are up, spread the marinara sauce on the bread and layer it with mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and oregano. Bake for 5 minutes, then broil for an additional 1 minute.
  • Allow the bread to cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing and enjoy!

Notes

  • I highly recommend baking the bread with garlic butter prior to adding the marinara sauce and cheese to prevent it from becoming soggy.
  • Use the best pizza sauce and bread you can get your hands on for the best results!
  • It is crucial that you use fresh garlic and not store-bought minced garlic that comes in a jar.
  • For achieving a golden brown cheese and slightly toasty bread, I recommend broiling it for 1-2 minutes.
  • Use a serrated knife to slice the bread in half.
  • Want to make this vegetarian? Omit the pepperoni and make it four cheese instead or add peppers, onions, and mushrooms, if you wish.
