This French bread pizza is cheesy, garlicky, and crispy! Made with simple fresh ingredients in under 15 minutes.
It goes perfectly with soups, salads, or pasta!
If you love cheesy garlic bread, then you will love this French bread pizza. The only difference is this is made with French bread and pepperoni slices but they’re honestly equally delicious.
WHAT MAKES THIS THE BEST FRENCH BREAD PIZZA?
- Made with minimal ingredients.
- A cost-effective recipe that feeds a crowd.
- Loaded with flavor.
- A cross between pizza and cheesy bread.
INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED:
- Bread – Any type of wide bread loaf will work for this recipe.
- Pizza Sauce – If you can’t find pizza sauce at your local supermarket, try your local pizzeria. Sometimes pizzerias sell sauce and pizza dough. However, marinara sauce works too.
- Butter – Use unsalted softened butter.
- Oregano – Optional.
- Cheese – I like to use a combination of shredded mozzarella cheese and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Parsley – Optional.
- Garlic – Use fresh garlic for best results!
- Pepperoni – I prefer using small pepperoni cups because they’re extra crispy. You can also use sausage or ham. Just make sure it’s fully cooked through before adding it to the bread.
PRO TIPS
- I highly recommend baking the bread with garlic butter prior to adding the marinara sauce and cheese to prevent it from becoming soggy.
- Use the best pizza sauce and bread you can get your hands on for the best results!
- It is crucial that you use fresh garlic and not store-bought minced garlic that comes in a jar.
- For achieving a golden brown cheese and slightly toasty bread, I recommend broiling it for 1-2 minutes.
- Use a serrated knife to slice the bread in half.
- Want to make this vegetarian? Omit the pepperoni and make it four cheese instead or add peppers, onions, and mushrooms, if you wish.
- Serve with marinara sauce on the side for extra flavor.
HOW LONG DO I BAKE IT FOR?
I baked it at 400 degrees F. for 10 minutes and then broiled it for 1 minute. So a total of 11 minutes.
STORAGE & REHEATING
If you have any leftovers, cover and store them at room temperature for up to 1 day. Reheat in the air fryer or oven until heated through. Avoid heating it in the microwave otherwise, it will become soggy.
