- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon Kosher salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- vanilla ice cream, for serving
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the cookie dough. Press the cookie dough into the greased skillet, spreading it out evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, enjoy!
- If you like a soft and gooey cookie, don't overbake this! However, if you like your cookies well done, bake it until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
