Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 10 ounces green beans
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 garlic cloves finely minced
  • oil

Instructions

  • Heat about 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the green beans and cook for 5-6 minutes, while tossing frequently.
  • While the green beans cook, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, cornstarch, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and garlic.
  • Remove the green beans from the skillet and add more oil if needed. Add the shrimp and cook for 20 seconds on each side.
  • Stir in the sauce and add the green beans back to the skillet. Mix well and simmer for a minute or two and check for seasoning before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • The recipe can easily be adjusted to your liking. If you want it sweeter, add more honey, if you want it saltier, add more soy sauce or salt.
  • I used red pepper flakes to add a little bit of heat but if you like it extra spicy, add a generous amount of red pepper flakes or sriracha.
  • Garnish with scallions or sesame seeds for extra crunch.
  • This recipe works with chicken breasts or scallops as well.
