Servings: 2
- 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
- 10 ounces green beans
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
- 2 garlic cloves finely minced
- oil
Heat about 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the green beans and cook for 5-6 minutes, while tossing frequently.
While the green beans cook, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, cornstarch, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and garlic.
Remove the green beans from the skillet and add more oil if needed. Add the shrimp and cook for 20 seconds on each side.
Stir in the sauce and add the green beans back to the skillet. Mix well and simmer for a minute or two and check for seasoning before serving. Enjoy!
- The recipe can easily be adjusted to your liking. If you want it sweeter, add more honey, if you want it saltier, add more soy sauce or salt.
- I used red pepper flakes to add a little bit of heat but if you like it extra spicy, add a generous amount of red pepper flakes or sriracha.
- Garnish with scallions or sesame seeds for extra crunch.
- This recipe works with chicken breasts or scallops as well.
