- 1 lb bacon
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon optional
- black pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. and place an oven-safe wire rack on a lined baking sheet.
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and a pinch of ground cinnamon.
Place the bacon strips on the wire rack making sure they don't overlap. Season the bacon with fresh cracked pepper. Sprinkle the bacon strips with the brown sugar mixture.
Bake for 25 minutes and let it rest for at least 10 minutes before enjoying.
- Place any leftover candied bacon strips in an air-tight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium-high heat until warmed through.
- Make sure to cook the bacon on an oven-safe wire rack for best results. The wire rack will allow the bacon to cook evenly and get crispy.
- If you like it extra crispy, cook it a couple of minutes longer or until it caramelizes to your liking.
- Want to make it spicy? Season the bacon with chili powder!
