These M&M’s chocolate chip cookie bars are soft and chewy with crisp edges. Loaded with M&M candies, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and baked to perfection.
I love M&M cookies and chocolate chip cookies so, of course, I wanted a cookie that combined both m&m candies and chocolate chips. These cookie bars are simply the best! They’re perfect for birthdays, pot lucks, or any time you crave something sweet.

Ingredient Notes
- Butter – You can use salted or unsalted butter just make sure it’s softened at room temperature.
- Eggs – The eggs should be at room temperature so the cookie bars bake evenly.
- M&M’s – Any type of M&M’s will work for this recipe.
- Chocolate Chips – I used semi-sweet chocolate chips but feel free to use dark or milk chocolate chips.
Step-By-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. and line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Using an electric mixer, mix the butter until smooth. Add the brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs and mix until well combined but don’t overmix. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and M&M’s. Add the cookie dough mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread the dough evenly. Take your time and make sure it’s even.
- Bake for 27 minutes and allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing into it.

- It’s essential that the butter and eggs are at room temperature.

How To Tell When They’re Done?
The top should be a golden color and the edges will be set. Also, insert a toothpick into the center of the cookies, if it comes out clean, it’s done. Don’t be alarmed if the centers look raw.
Storage
Place any leftovers in a large freezer bag or air-tight container and keep it at room temperature for up to 2-3 days.
