I received a lot of baked turkey wing recipe requests along with youtube tutorials on how to cook turkey wings. Done and done. Looking for a new recipe that involves turkey? Look no further. These wings are crispy on the outside and nice and juicy on the inside.
Seasoned with a bunch of different spices and marinaded overnight. The best part about these turkey wings? They are baked, not fried and messy. Ok, maybe a little sticky and messy but not oily messy. If you enjoyed these Baked Honey BBQ Wings then you’ll love these turkey wings.
Can I use Chicken Wings Instead?
Absolutely. Feel free to use this seasoning and marinade with chicken, shrimp, vegetables, or fish. It’s so delicious it works on anything.
How Long Do I Bake These For?
That all depends on how big the turkey wings are. Mine took about two hours to cook. Turkey is safe to eat when cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
How to Make Honey Baked Turkey Wings:
The trick for juicy and flavorful wings is marinating them overnight. Let them sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before cooking. When you cook cold meat straight from the fridge, it takes longer for the middle to fully cook through.
- Combine the spices in a small bowl and the honey, garlic, soy sauce, and red crushed pepper in a separate bowl.
- Season the turkey wings with the spice mixture, oil, salt, pepper, honey-soy mixture and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Cover and bake the wings for 1 hour and 30 minutes and cook an additional 30 minutes or until fully cooked through uncovered.
Turkey wings are the perfect holiday and weekend food. This recipe was the inspiration for this delicious honey butter fried chicken

So quick question, only to be sure…when I bake them In the oven, I leave them covered, or uncovered??(I’m assuming with that rich color, its uncovered…) I am making this for family next weekend..cant wait 🙂
Hi Nicole, I baked them uncovered. Hope you enjoy this recipe 🙂
I noticed another clear liquid was poured over the wings before the honey and spices mixture but this is not listed on the recipe. What was that clear liquid? Thanks in Advance
Vegetable oil 🙂
I just want to know where I can buy turkey wings that little????
haha! I bought these at Shop Rite.
I know you said salt to taste but about how much would you say you used ?
Hi Sheena, I like things on the saltier side so I would say about 1/2 tsp. I think that’s more than generous since the soy sauce is very salty.
I love trying new things. I’m definitely going to make this. I cook Turkey wings all the time, but I never made baked honey Turkey wings. Thanks for the new idea.
Hope you enjoy them Lela 🙂
Can I put these in the crock pot with the spices & broil when done with the honey sauce?
Absolutely! That’s a terrific idea 🙂
I was wonder what I was going to cook for Thanksgiving. THANKS so much!!
Awesome! Hope you enjoy this recipe 🙂
I was wondering if this could be done in an air fryer?
Hi Deborah, I’ve never used an air fryer before so I don’t know how they would turn out 🙁
May I know your Instagram name?
of course, it’s cookedbyjulie.
Can you cook them on barbecue grille
Yes, you can 🙂
Did you cook the wings covered or uncovered?
These were small so I cooked them uncovered but if you use large turkey wings and they take longer to cook, I suggest covering them 3/4’s of the cooking period so the honey glaze doesn’t burn.
I’m trying this tonight!
Hope you love the recipe 🙂
Could I use this same recipe on chicken wings
You absolutely can 🙂
Hi. I really wanna try to make this. Is it better to allow them to sit overnight? Or can I make them same day?
Hi Katrina, you can certainly refrigerate them overnight just make sure to bring the turkey wings to room temperature before cooking.
Hi Julie! Ive done this recipe before and I’m doing it again tonight. What are some good side suggestions to go with the wings?
Hi Robert, so glad you’re making these again! I would definitely recommend some four cheese mac and cheese and vegetables. Enjoy!
HI Julie,
Point of clarity – in your instructions you say bake covered. Someone asked the question and you replied that you baked them uncovered. Which should it be?
Thanks
Hi Ken, I baked them covered for one hour and 30 minutes and uncovered for the final 30 minutes.
So. Are you baking these wings for a total of two hours? Your direction were not specific. I noticed that you said bake covered and then at a latef time bake uncovered. I probably should have covered them, but when I read uncovered, I went with that.
I apologize. You want to bake them covered until the wings are fully cooked through and falling off the bone, cook them uncovered for 15-20 minutes to give them color and crisp up the skin. I’ll adjust the recipe instructions.
