INGREDIENT NOTES & SUBSTITUTIONS
See the recipe card below for ingredient quantities and complete instructions.
- Bananas – You’ll need 2 large ripe bananas and they must be ripe! Ripe bananas will add moisture and sweetness to your bars.
- Butter – Unsalted and softened at room temperature.
- Brown Sugar – Make sure it’s soft and fresh. If your brown sugar is expired or hard, your bars won’t turn out good.
TOP TIPS
- Don’t overmix the batter or overbake the bars. I baked them at 350 degrees F. for 34 minutes and they were perfect but start checking them at the 30 minute mark.
- Allow the chocolate banana bars to cool for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing into them.
- Serve them warm with vanilla ice cream for best results!
STORAGE
Place any leftovers in an air-tight container and keep at room temperature for 2-3 days.
