These chuletas fritas aka fried pork chops are seasoned and fried to perfection! A quick and easy recipe that takes less than 30 minutes to put together. Enjoy with tostones, Cuban black beans, and white rice for the ultimate meal!
Fried pork chops are super popular in the Caribbean and growing up I ate these a lot. My Cuban grandmother used to make chuletas fritas at least twice a week. Such an inexpensive meal that’s packed with flavor and feeds a crowd. If you’ve ever been to a Puerto Rican or Cuban restaurant then you’ve definitely seen these on the menu. Now you can make them at home!
Ingredients
- Bone-in pork chops – you can use boneless pork chops if you prefer.
- Garlic – fresh
- Oregano
- Cumin
- Sazon – I used 1 tsp
- Adobo – I used 1/2 tsp
- Vinegar
- Lime juice
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper – I didn’t add any salt or pepper because the adobo and sazon has enough. But feel free to season to taste.
- Oil – for frying
How to Make
- In a large bowl, season the pork chops with adobo, cumin, garlic, lime juice, vinegar, sazon, oregano, and olive oil. Coat the pork chops well on both sides and let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- While the pork chops rest, heat some vegetable or canola oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350 degrees F.
- Fry the pork chops for 3-4 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. The pork chops should be crisp and juicy. Once you’re done frying the pork chops, cover with aluminum foil and let the chops rest for 2 minutes.
- Serve with lime wedges and enjoy!
