If you’re a meat lover, you will love these garlic butter steak tips! Say hello to your new favorite beef recipe. Made with just 4 ingredients in under 15 minutes!
Best Garlic Butter Steak Tips Ever
- It’s so easy to make and the flavor is unbelievable! You really just need good quality steak, oil, fresh garlic, and salted butter.
- Although I seasoned the steak tips with just salt and pepper, feel free to season it with Cajun seasoning or chipotle seasoning.
- Low carb, keto-friendly, and can be served as an appetizer or main entree.
- No marinade required! Super buttery and garlicky.
Ingredient Notes
Beef – Steak tips are typically made with sirloin but feel free to use filet mignon, ribeye, or New York strip instead. Avoid inexpensive stew meat, it can be very tough.
How To Make
- Season the beef with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat the oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak tips to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Stir in the butter and garlic and cook for 20 seconds. Check for seasoning and enjoy!
Top Tips For The Perfect Steak Tips
- Don’t overcrowd the skillet otherwise, the beef will just steam and you won’t get a nice crust!
- Let the beef sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes before cooking.
- Don’t cook the garlic for more than 20 seconds or it can burn and turn bitter.
- Make sure your skillet is very hot before you adding the steak tips!
- Place any leftovers in an air-tight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
How Do You Make Steak Tips Tender?
Make sure to slice against the grain while slicing the meat into bite-sized pieces. And of course, let the steak tips rest for a couple of minutes before enjoying!
What Can I Serve This With?
For a large crowd, you can serve these on a platter with toothpicks! Or you can enjoy these with creamy mashed potatoes or four-cheese mac and cheese for a complete meal.

This was fantastic. Certainly a window open affair for me, but manageable. I turned off the burner about three-quarters of the way finished to cool the pan some for the butter and garlic.
This recipe is delicious! I’m not sure how it tastes after storing in the refrigerator because we never have any leftovers!!
So glad you enjoyed this recipe! Your feedback is very much appreciated.
I can’t remember if I already posted a comment but I’m preparing to make these again tonight and they are SO GOOD I have to make sure I leave a comment. We are steak lovers but with the price of a good rib eye going up and the quality (it seems to us) going down, I thought I’d give these steak tips a try. BEST EVER! These cook up tender and so tasty. Made exactly the same with the only change being that I used Saltverk Arctic Thyme Salt instead of “regular” salt. These are a must try! And if sirloin is on sale even better!
Wow I’m so glad you enjoyed these! And thank you so much for reporting back 🙂
My family absolutely adores this recipe! My son is not a real meat eater, but this is something that he devours.
So glad you and your family enjoyed it 🙂
