This restaurant-quality air fryer honey Chilean sea bass will most certainly impress your family and friends. Not only is it delicious, but it also cooks so much faster than it would in a regular oven. Hands down, the easiest weeknight meal you can make.

two cooked Chilean sea bass filets in an air fryer basked.

If you enjoyed these air fryer scallops and these air fryer breaded shrimp, then you will love this air fryer Chilean sea bass. I mean cooking seafood, is pretty easy overall but when you involve an air fryer it cooks almost immediately.

Why I Love This Air Fryer Honey Chilean Sea Bass

    • Chilean sea bass is packed with healthy fish oils and can be a low-carb meal if you omit the honey!
    • It cooks in under 15 minutes.
    • It’s sweet and spicy, delicious, and can be paired with white rice or creamy mashed potatoes for a complete dinner meal.
    • Any leftovers can be placed in an air-tight container and refrigerated for up to 3 days.

    Ingredient Notes

Chilean Sea Bass – It can be extremely expensive, almost 30 dollars per pound depending on where you purchase it from. If it’s out of your budget use haddock, cod, or any type of white meaty fish.

Red Crushed Pepper – It adds spice! Simply omit it if you’re not a fan. Want to make it even spicier? Add sriracha sauce instead!

Soy Sauce – Use low sodium.

    How To Make

    1. Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F and spray the basket with cooking spray.
    2. Season the fish fillets generously with kosher salt and black pepper on all sides. Place it skin-side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes.
    3. While the fish cooks, combine the honey, soy sauce, fresh garlic, and red crushed pepper.
    4. Brush the fish with the honey garlic glaze, increase the temperature to 400 degrees F. and cook for 2 minutes or until fully cooked through and the top is crispy and golden brown.

    Top Tips

    • Let the Chilean sea bass sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes before cooking it. Otherwise, if the fish is too cold, it will cook unevenly.
    • Make sure you cook the fish for 10 minutes before glazing it, honey burns quickly and if cooked for 12 minutes, it will burn!
    • Serve with fresh lemon.

Can I Bake It In The Oven Instead?

Yes, to make it in a traditional oven, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Bake for 16 minutes and then top it off with the glaze and cook for an additional 2 minutes or until it fully cooks through.

This recipe has been my favorite for sea bass. Have made it at least 4-5 times. I found I need to cook my sea bass less than 10 minutes, though. Probably depends on the thickness of the fish. And because I am allergic to soy, I use Coconut Aminos instead and it tastes just like soy. Yummy recipe.
