If you own an air fryer then you certainly need this recipe! I own the instant vortex plus air fryer and I am obsessed with how easy it is to use and all the delicious meals I make in it. Air frying is so much healthier than deep frying in oil. Plus it’s less clean up and not as messy. These air fried shrimp are crispy, juicy, and perfectly cooked in 4 minutes. The inspiration for this recipe came from one of my most popular recipes on the blog, Southern Fried Shrimp.

    Ingredient’s You’ll Need

    • Raw Jumbo Shrimp – I highly recommend using raw shrimp, not cooked shrimp. Also, I like to leave the tails on so I could dip the shrimp in the melted butter a lot easier.
    • Old Bay Seasoning – If you don’t have old bay seasoning, season the breadcrumbs with salt and pepper or use seasoned breadcrumbs.
    • Breadcrumbs – You may use any type of plain breadcrumbs you have on hand. Panko or Italian is fine, just make sure it isn’t seasoned breadcrumbs if using the old bay seasoning.
    • Melted Butter – Make sure to use unsalted since the old bay seasoning is very salty.

Top Tips For The Perfect Air Fryer Breaded Shrimp

    • Use cooking spray.
    • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
    • Only cook for 4 minutes.
    • You can flip the shrimp halfway if you want to but I feel like there is no need. I own the Instant Vortex plus air fryer that comes with two racks. I simply rearrange the racks halfway through the cooking process.
    • Serve with remoulade sauce or tartar sauce.

    Can I Use Frozen Shrimp?

I recommend using defrosted shrimp for this recipe.

What Do I Serve This With?

Although I think this makes the best appetizer you may certainly serve it with spicy potato salad and coleslaw.
