WHY DO THEY CALL IT CRACK CHICKEN DIP?

People call it “crack chicken dip” because it’s a super tasty and addictive creamy chicken dip.

The word “crack” is used to say it’s so good that you can’t stop eating it, like how people use “crack” to describe something really enjoyable or hard to quit.

INGREDIENT NOTES & SUBSTITUTIONS

See the recipe card below for ingredient quantities and complete instructions.

  • Chicken – Rotisserie chicken is a time saver but feel free to use any type of cooked chicken.
  • Cheese – You’ll need softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bacon – Completely optional. If you don’t consume pork, feel free to use turkey bacon instead.
  • Sour Cream – I highly recommend using full-fat sour cream for best results.

TOP TIPS

  • I like to bake my bacon in the oven because it’s a lot easier than cooking it on the stovetop!
  • If you can’t find Ranch seasoning, season the chicken dip with the spices of your choice.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is completely softened otherwise, you’ll have trouble mixing it.
  • Use an electric mixer or two forks to shred the chicken.
  • If using a rotisserie chicken, discard the skin and bones and only use the white meat.
