If you love a classic green bean casserole, then you’ll definitely love this green beans almondine!

    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • Green beans are inexpensive and healthy for you! They’re packed with nutrients such as Vitamins, potassium, and calcium. No guilt after snacking on these!
    • Pairs well with literally anything. I love serving this with turkey, ham, or smothered chicken thighs.
    • They’re crunchy, garlicky, nutty, and absolutely delicious!
    • Requires just 6 ingredients.

    Ingredient Notes

Green Beans – Use fresh green beans. Avoid canned or frozen green beans for this recipe. Although I used regular green beans, French green beans (Haricots Verts) work best for this recipe. French green beans are slightly longer and thinner than regular green beans.

Shallots – I used shallots but use any type of onions if you wish. Just make sure they’re nice and caramelized.

Lemon – It adds flavor and a bit of tang but feel free to omit it.

ingredients. Green beans, lemon, garlic, almonds, shallot, and butter.

Top Tips For The Ultimate Green Beans Almondine

    • Include some crispy bacon, pancetta, or parmesan cheese on top for some extra flavor and saltiness.
    • Season the water generously with kosher salt and blanch the green beans for 2-3 minutes or until they are bright green and crisp-tender.
    • If you don’t want to slice the garlic and shallots, feel free to finely mince it instead.
    • Want to make this vegan? Omit the butter and use oil instead.

Can I Make This Ahead Of Time?

I highly recommend making this the same day you plan on serving it. It takes about 20 minutes to put together and tastes best when served immediately. I don’t recommend making this ahead of time. You can, however, slice the shallots and garlic ahead of time.
