This creamy spinach stuffed salmon is the ultimate weeknight meal. Juicy and flaky salmon fillets stuffed with a cream cheese and spinach mixture, then topped off with a honey glaze.
I absolutely love salmon recipes, some of my other favorites include crab-stuffed salmon, firecracker baked salmon, and salmon burgers.
What makes this spinach stuffed salmon so good is the filling and the glaze. I mean, who doesn’t love cream cheese, garlic, honey, and sriracha sauce? Although I didn’t find this spicy, you may certainly omit the sriracha sauce and use soy sauce instead.
Ingredient Notes
- Salmon – Any type of meaty fish will work. Chilean sea bass or cod are great options.
- Softened Cream Cheese – If you’re not a fan of it, use goat cheese or any type of soft creamy cheese.
- Old Bay Seasoning – Season the salmon with salt and pepper if you don’t have old bay on hand. This Cajun seasoning is an excellent spice blend you can use as well.
- Spinach – Although I prefer fresh spinach, feel free to use frozen spinach.
How To Make Spinach Stuffed Salmon Step By Step
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, fresh minced garlic, and chopped spinach. Mix well. In a separate bowl, mix the honey and sriracha sauce.
- Cut a slice into each salmon about 3/4’s of the way through. Season the salmon on both sides with old bay seasoning.
- Fill each salmon pocket with 1-2 tbsp of the cream cheese mixture. Brush the salmon fillets with the honey mixture. Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet and bake for 16 minutes or until the salmon is fully cooked through.
- Garnish with sesame seeds if desired, and enjoy with fresh lemon!
Top Tips For The Perfect Salmon
- I like to use fresh salmon as I find it much tastier than frozen salmon. Wild-caught king salmon is an excellent choice for this recipe.
- Want to make it low carb and keto-friendly? Omit the honey!
- Serve this with white fluffy rice or creamy mashed potatoes for a restaurant-quality meal.
- Place any leftovers in an air-tight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
What Is The Best Method To Cook Salmon?
Although I baked this in the oven, feel free to cook it on the stove top. To cook on the stovetop, heat some oil over medium heat. Cook the salmon fillets skin side down first for 5-6 minutes on each side. The thickest part of the salmon fillet should have a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees F.
