INGREDIENT NOTES
See the recipe card below for ingredient quantities and complete instructions.
- Chicken – I used boneless chicken breasts but feel free to use boneless chicken thighs instead.
- Spices – A combination of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Oil – This will help the spices adhere to the chicken.
- BBQ Sauce – Use the brand of your choice, but I really like sweet baby Ray’s original bbq sauce.
TOP TIPS
- Don’t have bamboo skewers? No problem, simply place the chicken chunks in the air fryer, leaving some space between each chicken piece.
- Make sure to soak the bamboo skewers in water for a few minutes before threading the chicken otherwise, they may overheat and burn.
- Cook the chicken for 5 minutes before brushing it with bbq sauce otherwise, the chicken will burn. BBQ sauce contains sugar and sugar has a tendency to burn quickly when exposed to high heat.
- Not a fan of bbq sauce? Simply omit it or use the sauce of your choice, such as honey mustard or bang bang sauce.
HOW LONG DO I COOK THE CHICKEN FOR?
I cooked the chicken kabobs in the air fryer at 400 degrees F. for a total of 12 minutes.
WHAT CAN I SERVE THIS WITH?
I love serving these with 4 cheese mac and cheese and veggies but feel free to serve these with the sides of your choice.
STORAGE
If you have any leftovers, allow them to cool completely and then transfer them to an air-tight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Simply reheat in the air fryer or microwave until heated through.
