Air fryer stuffed lobster tails are a must for date night, valentine’s day, or any special occasion! Cold water lobster tails stuffed with a lump crab filling, then air fried to perfection in just 7 minutes.
Although lobster tails can be pricey, once in a while I just crave it and have to have it. These stuffed lobster tails were garlicky, buttery, tender, and incredibly delicious. I just know you’re going to love them. Serve them with air fryer filet mignon and you got yourself a restaurant-quality meal. If you love lobster as much as I do then you need to try this lobster scampi and these fried lobster tails as well.
Ingredients Notes For Air Fryer Stuffed Lobster Tails
- Lobster Tails – I recommend using cold water lobster tails rather than warm water lobster tails because they are a lot more tender.
- Crab – I highly recommend using real lump crab meat instead of imitation crab.
- Crackers – Crushed ritz crackers are sweet and buttery, so I love using them every time a recipe calls for breadcrumbs.
- Old Bay Seasoning – A must whenever making crab filling! If you don’t have any on hand feel free to use salt and pepper instead.
- Butter – Unsalted butter with a pinch of salt is what I recommend. Salted butter will be too salty for this recipe.
How To Make
- In a large bowl, combine the mayo, egg, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, old bay seasoning, parsley, lemon juice, and ritz crackers. Mix until well combined, then fold in the crab meat gently. Cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
- While the crab filling chills, butterfly the lobster tails. To butterfly, simply cut a lengthwise slit through the center, top of the shell, stopping just before the tail fins using kitchen shears. Spread the shell open and pull out the meat in one piece. Close the shell and place the meat over the shell.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, grated garlic, and a pinch of salt. Brush the lobster tails with the butter mixture. Be generous.
- Spoon about 1/2 cup of the crab filling on top of each lobster tail. Slightly shape the crab filling so it doesn’t fall off the lobster tails.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F for 5 minutes. Place the stuffed lobster tails in the air fryer basket and cook for 7-8 minutes or until the lobster meat is no longer translucent. Work in batches if you have to.
- Serve with lemon wedges and enjoy!
Top Tips
- Don’t overcook the lobster otherwise the lobster meat will be rubbery and the crab will become dry.
- If you have any leftover crab meat filling, feel free to make crab cakes or stuff more lobster tails with it!
- Be gentle when closing the air fryer, otherwise, the crab filling may fall off.
Can I Use Shrimp Instead Of Lobster?
Yes, you can but shrimp are a lot smaller so they will cook a lot faster. Make sure to adjust the cooking time.
Can I Bake This Instead?
Yes, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. and place the stuffed lobster tails on a baking sheet and cook for 10-12 minutes or until the lobster tails reach 145 degrees F.
