baked honey miso cod fish with rice and broccoli.

Cod fish is so underrated and I don’t know why because it’s incredibly delicious and super easy to cook. Some of my favorite cod recipes are cod piccata, skillet cod with tomatoes and peppers, and of course this baked honey miso cod!

INGREDIENT NOTES

  • Cod Fish – Fresh or frozen cod fish will work.
  • Honey – Adds sweetness, don’t omit it otherwise it may turn out salty.
  • Soy Sauce – I recommend low-sodium soy sauce.
  • Miso Paste and Mirin – Both can be found in the Asian section at your local supermarket. If you can’t find these at the grocery store, check on amazon.

IMPORTANT RECIPE TIPS!

  • Although I think this recipe is perfect, taste the sauce and adjust it to your liking!
  • If using frozen cod that’s been thawed, squeeze out any excess water with a paper towel before cooking.
  • Take the cod fish out of the fridge for at least 30 minutes before cooking.

RECIPE VARIATIONS

  • Want to add a little spice? Feel free to add red pepper flakes or a splash of sriracha to the sauce.
  • Don’t have cod fish on hand? Use Chilean sea bass or salmon instead.

HOW LONG DO I BAKE IT FOR?

I baked it at 400 degrees F. for 10 minutes then broiled it for 2 minutes. So a total of 12 minutes but keep in mind that cooking time will vary depending on the size of the fish. Just make sure to cook the cod until it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F.

STORAGE

Have leftovers? Allow them to cool completely then place them in an air-tight container and refrigerate for up to 2 days. To reheat, place it on a baking sheet and cover it with aluminum foil loosely. Warm in the oven for 10-12 minutes at 300 degrees F.
