This classic banana milkshake is super creamy, delicious, and requires just 3 ingredients! All you need is a blender, vanilla ice cream, milk, and bananas.
I love making milkshakes at home because it’s so much more economical than buying them at an ice cream shop. It takes less than 10 minutes to make and it’s so good! By the way, this banana milkshake goes great with cheeseburgers. There is nothing better than a greasy cheeseburger and a smooth and creamy milkshake!
Ingredient Notes
- Bananas – Fresh or frozen bananas work for this recipe.
- Ice Cream – Vanilla ice cream is a must. For a lighter version, use low-sugar ice cream.
- Milk – I used whole milk but feel free to use skim milk or any type of unsweetened milk. Avoid powdered milk.
Top Tips
- I used ripe bananas but if you don’t like your milkshake too sweet, use unripe bananas. Just make sure the bananas aren’t green and hard.
- Another great way to make it less sweet is to add a pinch of salt and a spoonful of peanut butter.
- Feel free to top the banana milkshake off with whipped cream, nuts, sprinkles, caramel sauce, or chocolate sauce.
- Use a high-powered blender.
- If you want your banana milkshake to be extra thick, use frozen bananas.
Can I Make This Ahead Of Time?
Unfortunately, no. I highly recommend making this and serving it immediately. If you let the milkshake sit for too long, it will get warm. Milkshakes are best enjoyed cold.
