Next time you have a get together at your house, you must make this! This crockpot goulash is packed with flavor, easy to make, and absolutely delicious. Perfect for a large crowd and it makes the best leftovers.

Why I Love This Crockpot Cheesy Beef Goulash Recipe

  • Requires just a handful of ingredients and a few easy steps.
  • A family-friendly dinner that even the pickiest eaters will enjoy. The kids will definitely love this!
  • It’s so versatile, you can include all the veggies you love. Mushrooms, zucchini, and peppers are great options.

Ingredient Notes

  • Pasta – I used macaroni but feel free to use any type of short-shaped pasta. Such as rigatoni, shells, and etc.
  • Sauce – I used canned diced tomatoes including the liquid and store-bought pasta sauce. You can of course use homemade marinara sauce.
  • Ground Beef – You can use ground turkey or ground chicken instead of beef.

How To Make Cheesy Beef Goulash Step By Step

  1. Begin by browning the beef in a skillet over medium-high heat on the stovetop. Once the beef browns completely, add the onions and cook for 2-3 minutes. Stir in the fresh garlic, spices, and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Transfer the beef to the crockpot and add all of the remaining ingredients except for the pasta and cheese. Stir, cover, and cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours.
  3. Cook the pasta until al dente in boiling salted water. Drain the pasta and add it to the crockpot. Stir well. Stir in the cheese, season with lots of salt and pepper, and enjoy!

Top Tips And Flavor Variations

  • Place any leftovers in an air-tight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply place it in a saucepan and cook until heated through. Add more sauce and cheese before serving, if you have it on hand.
  • To make it spicy, add a generous amount of red crushed pepper flakes.
  • To make it vegetarian, omit the ground beef and add a bunch of veggies instead.
  • Make sure to stir for about 1 minute after adding in the cheese so everything gets well incorporated.
  • I prefer to cook the pasta and ground beef on the stovetop because I think it just tastes better but feel free to cook the beef and pasta in the slow cooker.
