    Why This Recipe Works

As long as you use fresh bread, good quality cheese, lots of garlic, and softened butter this recipe is fail-proof. This is a simple, beginner recipe that anyone can tackle. This cheesy garlic bread goes with everything. Pasta, salads, you name it.

What You Need To Make Cheesy Garlic Bread

cheese, garlic, and herbs in small bowls and bread and butter on a wooden board.

    • Bread – I like to use classic French baguettes but feel free to use any kind of bread you have on hand.
    • Garlic – freshly minced garlic is a must. Avoid jar garlic for this recipe.
    • Butter – Make sure the butter is completely softened. I used unsalted butter and added a pinch of salt but salted butter works too.
    • Cheese – I used a combination of mozzarella and cheddar cheese but literally any type of shredded cheese works. Feel free to use a blend of fontina, provolone, freshly grated parmesan cheese and etc.

    How To Make Step-by-Step

    Step 1

Begin by preheating your oven to 450 degrees F. In a small bowl, combine the unsalted butter, fresh garlic, salt, and fresh parsley. You may use salted butter if you have it on hand. Slice the bread in half using a serrated knife.

    Step 2

Spread the butter mixture on the French bread and then finally top it off with mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and oregano. Place it on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese melts completely.
