Along with my air fryer bbq bacon-wrapped scallops, these air fryer goat cheese bacon-wrapped dates are a huge favorite! All you need is an air fryer and 5 ingredients. Although, you may certainly bake these in the oven if you don’t own an air fryer.

    Why You’ll Love These

    • Minimal ingredients.
    • The ultimate appetizer for an elegant party, brunch, or holiday dinner.
    • You can modify this recipe any way you want. For instance, if you want to make these sweet and spicy, add some diced jalapenos to the cheese mixture.
    • Super easy to make.

    Ingredient Notes

    • Dates – I highly recommend using pitted Medjool dates. If you can’t find pitted dates, just make sure to remove the pits.
    • Goat Cheese – I used plain softened goat cheese but feel free to use honey goat cheese or cream cheese instead.
    • Rosemary – Adds flavor but feel free to use the herb of your choice or simply omit it.
    • Bacon – Make sure to cut the bacon strips in half. You may use pork or turkey bacon.
    • Honey – Adds sweetness. Keep in mind that the bacon and goat cheese are super salty so adding honey will sweeten it up and also help caramelize the bacon.

    How To Make

    1. If using pitted dates, skip to step two. Slice the dates in half lengthwise but don’t slice them all the way through. Remove the pit and discard.
    2. Stuff each date with about 1 tablespoon of softened goat cheese. Wrap each date with a bacon strip and secure with a toothpick. Drizzle the bacon-wrapped dates with honey and fresh chopped rosemary.
    3. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F. for 5 minutes and spray the basket with cooking spray.
    4. Place the dates in the air fryer basket and cook for 7 minutes. Once the 7 minutes are up, remove them from the air fryer and allow them to cool for a few minutes, and remove the toothpicks.
    5. Taste them and add more honey if needed. Enjoy!

    Top Tips

    • Add as much or as little goat cheese as you’d like. You may also use as much or as little honey as you like as well. Adjust this recipe to your taste.
    • If you want a little crunch, top these off with chopped walnuts.
    • You can enjoy these warm or at room temperature.

    Can I Bake These Instead?

Yes, absolutely. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the bacon-wrapped dates on the baking sheet and bake for 22-25 minutes or until the bacon crisps up.

    Storage

Place any leftovers in an air-tight container and keep them at room temperature for up to 2 days.
