Honey Butter Fried Chicken tossed in a buttery sweet sauce infused with fresh garlic. The entire family will enjoy this recipe!

This honey butter fried chicken goes best with some Cheese Garlic Biscuits, Lobster Mac and Cheese, and Creamy Sriracha Coleslaw.

    Honey Bone in Fried Chicken

Last month I posted these delicious honey baked turkey wings and you guys loved them! I knew I had to upload another honey something soon. What I love most about this honey butter fried chicken aside from it’s sweet and salty combo, is that its bone-in fried chicken in a cast iron skillet, then covered in a honey butter sauce.

Basically, the real thing. I didn’t want this to be grilled nuggets, baked chicken, or chicken tenders tossed in sauce. Although all those sound good too, I was just in the mood for the real thing. Bone-in fried chicken is King. Period.

If you’ve tried these delicious chicken wings and loved them, then you’re going to love this recipe as well. I used the same recipe for the crust. Let’s talk about the sauce, it’s simple but I love how well it goes with this fried chicken. How can you not love fresh garlic, butter, honey, and salt?

    Honey Fried Chicken

I would highly recommend serving this with some warm butter biscuits. You may even use chicken breast instead and make a honey butter crispy chicken sandwich.

    Tips:

    1. Fry the chicken on each side for about 8-10 minutes.

    2. Finish cooking the chicken in the oven until a cooking thermometer reaches 165 F.

    3. Always fry the chicken at room temperature.

    4. Do not use olive oil or coconut oil.

    5. Use peanut or canola oil for best results.

    6. Brine the chicken in a salt/water brine.

Just made this, and I will never go back to the old way I fried chicken before. The color of the chicken was perfect. I followed the recipe down to the “T” except for the chilies. Everyone loved the chicken and ask for it again. Thanks Julie , and oh, I’m surprised that the brine was so easy and every piece came out tender and moist. The butter dressing was excellent. I too give it five stars.

The chicken looks so good. l’m getting ready to cut my chicken up, wash it, and brine it. I’ll let you know how it goes. I don’t have any chilies or crushed red peppers either, but I have enough other stuff to get the job done.

OH NOOOO what did I do wrong??? I couldn’t get the paste/mix to stay on the chicken. I had to add some water and soak the chicken for 20 minutes. What did I do wrong??

Oh no, I’m sorry! Did you rinse the chicken and immediately coated it with batter? If so, that can be the problem. I recommend drying the chicken thoroughly with paper towels and letting it sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes before coating it. Hope this helps.

Hi, Julie, made this recipe, I’m on a diet so, didn’t entirely fried the chicken but cooked it on nonstick pan with Pam and then baked it for an additional twenty minutes. Then made the sauce in the same pan, added it to the chicken and baked it for an additional five minutes. It was absolutely wonderful! Thank you!

This recipe is soo good! In fact, this is the first time I’ve ever tried making fried chicken that it’s actually worked out right lol. My first two attempts were either burnt (oil too hot sadly) and then it was golden outside and raw inside….this one – it was perfect! I left out the spices because the hubby and I don’t like anything hot.. I just melted the butter with some honey and drizzled it over top. So yummy! Thank you!
