Shrimp Alfredo Pasta made in the instant pot in under 5 minutes! You read that correctly. I guarantee you and your family will devour this meal and make it again. Super easy to make and best of all it’s super creamy, cheesy, and decadent.

The best part about this cooking method is that the pasta is cooked perfectly al dente. This delicious meal is made with penne pasta, shrimp, chicken stock, heavy cream, and cheese.

Shrimp and pasta covered in sauce with parsley and a wooden spoon up close.

Oh man, I think my life has changed forever. Months ago I would’ve never imagined cooking pasta in an instant pot. Glad I gave it a try because the pasta was incredible and perfectly al dente. Such a quick and easy recipe that you’re going to love.

Trust me, cooking penne pasta for 3 minutes in the instant pot and then doing a quick release will result in the best pasta ever!

Ingredient’s You’ll Need For This Recipe:

    • Penne Pasta
    • Shrimp – I highly recommend using jumbo raw peeled and deveined shrimp. Shell on shrimp works as well. Just make sure you use raw frozen shrimp.
    • Heavy Cream
    • Chicken Stock
    • Cream Cheese – This is a must. It will help thicken the sauce and add tons of flavor and creaminess.
    • Fresh Parmesan Cheese – I used a store-bought Quattro Formaggio blend that includes Parmesan, Asiago, Fontina, and Provolone. Super good! However, feel free to use fresh parmesan cheese if you can’t find the cheese blend I used.
    • Garlic – Always use fresh.
    • Olive Oil
    • Salt and Pepper

    Top Tips:

    1. Do a quick pressure release and remove the shrimp from the instant pot as soon as you open the lid and set it aside. Otherwise, the shrimp may overcook.
    2. Please read the instant pot manual before using it.

What Other Ingredients Can I add To This Recipe?

Brocolli, mushrooms, and peas would be great additions to this creamy delicious meal.

What Can I Serve This With?

Although I believe this would be super satisfying on its own, a slice of cheesy garlic bread would be heavenly.

A small tomato avocado salad would also be a great side as well.
